USN ordered the production of the T-34C Turbo Mentor in April 1975 after an extended development programmed. The Turbo Mentor has been referred to as the ’Tormentor’ and is still the first aircraft encountered by prospective naval pilots since its earliest days in US Navy service. Consecutive contracts brought the total produced to 352 by April 1984, which 19 were built as attrition replacements, final deliveries were in April 1990. In addition, The majority of USN T-34Cs are used in the primary training role and Training Wing Five’s three squadrons share approximately 200 aircraft.
